In fact, I built a mobile miter saw station a few years ago and I’m so glad I did. I built it when I upgraded my miter saw to the 12 inch Dewalt Sliding Compound Miter Saw. These two upgrades (the DWS 779 Chop Saw and the mobile miter saw station) helped me create better quality pieces in a shorter amount of time. I highly recommend both of them!

It’s important to note that you don’t have to have a very expensive miter saw to make quality pieces. I used a 7 1/4″ Ryobi Miter Saw for years and for countless projects before I bought a nicer one. It got the job done (to say the least) and was truly a great starter miter saw. It’s still sitting in the corner of my garage because I just can’t bring myself to get rid of it!

Stop Blocks – these are the ones I use and they are so helpful in creating repeatable cuts on your miter saw

Dust Collection – you can get a very robust dust collection system like this Jet System, or something as simple as a smaller shop vacuum that you connect to your miter saw.
